Job Description

Job DescriptionIn this role, you’ll manage claim submissions, verify insurance details, and resolve discrepancies to ensure timely reimbursements. The ideal candidate brings strong coding knowledge, precision, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our billing operations.

Responsibilities

Assign correct ICD and CPT codes for medical diagnoses, procedures, and services.
Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and pre-authorizations.
Generate and send patient invoices; follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
Post and reconcile payments from insurers and patients.
Respond to patient inquiries about billing, claims, and payments.
Maintain accurate, compliant records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Create reports on billing activities, claim statuses, and revenue.
Stay current on updates to billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
Participate in training and professional development sessions.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certification in medical billing preferred.
Proven experience in a medical billing or healthcare administration role.
Proficient in ICD and CPT coding systems and familiar with medical billing software.
Knowledge of healthcare billing processes, insurance policies, and reimbursement procedures.
Strong accuracy, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with EHR systems, medical terminology, and HIPAA compliance.
Experience with Worker’s Comp and No-Fault claims preferred.
