A Clinical Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who provides staff support, and works in conjunction with the Unit Director. In collaboration with the Nurse Leaders, facilitates safe and efficient clinical patient care and the patient experience through effective staff communication, patient throughput, and provider collaboration.

They plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships with staff for retention, recruitment, mentoring, and patient and staff satisfaction. Fosters teamwork and collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team.

The Clinical Coordinator plays a significant role in assisting the nurse manager in achieving clinical and financial goals along with management of human/material resources as delegated. The Team Leader is the primary shift charge nurse, and will direct all nursing operations in the emergency department during their shift.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Optimize flow within the Urgent Care.
  • Direct patient care and assessment; relationship-based care through customer service rounding.
  • Initiates and maintains positive and professional relationships with patients and coworkers.
  • Real time staff education, mentoring, and coaching of staff relating to care, communication, and unit operations with the purpose of supporting excellent patient care.
  • Customer service in line with organizational expectations and obtain organizational goals including fostering team work and collaboration.
  • Serve as a representative and active agent by engagement with furthering the nursing profession at CMC.
  • Accountable for day-to-day adjustments in staffing. Documents deviations from staffing plan with explanation. Adjusts staff schedule to optimize unit coverage.
  • Shifts flex will with rotating weekends.
  • This is a combination of clinical shifts and administrative shifts

Required Skills and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • 1 year of nursing experience
  • Currently licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with staff and hospital leaders


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS completed by end of orientation
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of healthcare experience


Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

Compensation Disclosure:

  • $73,008 to $94,993 per year
