Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our daycare team. The Lead Teacher will oversee the daily operations of a classroom, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This role involves implementing fostering child development, and maintaining strong communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.

• Monitor and assess children's developmental progress, providing individualized support as needed.

• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress, behavior, and needs.

• Lead and mentor assistant teachers or aides, fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Ensure compliance with state and local childcare regulations and licensing standards.

• Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental observations.

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 90+ credits or full BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).

• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and staff.

• Ability to lead a classroom and manage a team of assistant teachers or aides.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Must pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements.

• Passion for working with young children and creating a positive learning environment.
