Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Worker – Summer (10 Weeks)

Reports To: Director of Facilities

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Job Type: Full-time Temporary (40 hrs./week).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains and services various areas of the College, including moving furniture and painting.
  2. Requires indoor and outdoor work.
  3. Weekends and overtime work may be required to support college events, activities, and emergencies.
  4. Effectively interact with staff, students, and faculty.
  5. May require walking long distances, standing for extended periods, twisting, bending, reaching, and kneeling.
  6. Assist with event setups and breakdowns.
  7. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. Take directions from the supervisor.
  2. Ability to read and write in English, do basic math, and follow instructions.
  3. Work in a collaborative manner as part of the site team.
  4. Relate professionally with vendors, residents, and co-workers.
  5. Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  6. Comply with college policies and procedures.
  7. Flexible to change work plans.
  8. Maintain a professional personal appearance.
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities or direct reports.

Work environment

  • The position requires both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Must be available for weekend work, and overtime to support college events, activities, and emergencies.
  • The role may require long periods of standing, walking long distances, and physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and kneeling.
