Chemical/Environmental Engineer – Buffalo, NY

An established manufacturing facility is currently seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer or Environmental Engineer to support plant operations in Buffalo, NY. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in process engineering, environmental compliance, and industrial plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support chemical process design, optimization, and troubleshooting within the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations including EPA and state/local environmental standards.
  • Conduct hazard analysis, risk assessments, and implement safety protocols in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Oversee and improve systems for waste treatment, emissions control, and water/air quality monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to environmental permits, chemical usage, and safety inspections.
  • Monitor and manage process control systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical plant, manufacturing facility, or similar industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of environmental regulations, process safety, and industrial hygiene.
  • Proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Aspen Plus, or similar tools).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
