Job Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented professional to lead our Dairy & Frozen Department. The Head of Department is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring fully stocked and well-presented cases, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and delivering excellent customer service. This role also involves training and developing team members to achieve department goals and create a positive shopping experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily operations of the Dairy & Frozen Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

Train, supervise, and develop new and existing associates to deliver top performance.

Stock and rotate all dairy and frozen merchandise in cases and shelves, ensuring product freshness, accuracy of pricing, and attractive presentation.

Maintain strict quality control by regularly checking expiration dates and removing outdated or spoiled items.

Unload, inspect, and properly store incoming products, ensuring accurate documentation, correct temperature control, and product quality.

Monitor refrigeration and display equipment for proper performance; report concerns immediately.

Maintain department cleanliness and organization, including cases, shelves, storage, and work areas.

Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, assisting with product selection, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.

Proactively respond to customer requests and promote additional products through cross-selling.

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Collaborate with store management regarding customer feedback, employee performance, and operational improvements.

Walk the department regularly to guarantee an organized, sanitary, and customer-friendly environment.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Previous retail or supermarket experience preferred; supervisory experience strongly valued.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to follow instructions, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
