The White Moustache, a Brooklyn-based artisanal yogurt maker, is looking for two energetic production supervisors to lead our team through their day-to-day creation of our yogurts and related products.

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
Location: Onsite - Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: 2 shifts available.
Full Time 6am to 5pm (4 days)

  • Shift 1: Sunday to Wednesday
  • Shift 2: Wednesday to Saturday

Hourly Rate: $24/hour

POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor will lead an assigned team through the daily creation of an artisanal food product to ensure smooth operations, adherence to strict compliance rules and processes as well as efficient completion of day-to-day projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with hiring and training of team members.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
  • Adjust daily shift roles based on call outs and absentees.
  • Fills out daily reports and checklists.
  • Ensures quality of food product at all stages.
  • Maintains high sanitation standards.
  • Instructs production team on roles and shift duties daily.
  • Maintains excellence in production team process.
  • Interacts with monthly Ag&Markets inspectors for sample pick-ups.
  • Ensures that the equipment is available, clean and in proper working order.
  • Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment.
  • Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
  • Requests new or replacement tools, supplies, or equipment as needed for production.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sanitation practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
  • Ability to remain organized.
  • Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in production.
  • Thorough understanding of food production procedures and regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • At least two years of related Kitchen, Bakery, Food management work experience required.
  • At least one year of supervisory job duties specific to managing a team is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Stand for 8+ hours straight
  • Basic tech comprehension and usage
  • Excellent time management and organization
