About the role: We are seeking an experienced commercial electrical mechanic responsible for the full electrical installation and interconnection on solar construction projects. Projects are in mainly in the boroughs and Long Island, we also do service upper New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and throughout the Northeast - Travel OPTIONAL for this position. This role requires strong work ethic, dedication to the trade, eagerness to learn/improve skills and ability to work as part of a team. .

This position is NOT open for junior mechanics

General Duties:

  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings.
  • Strong familiarity with NEC standards.
  • Installing switchgear
  • Installing transformers
  • Familiarity with underground and overhead layout and install
  • Ability to ground systems
  • Ability to make splices and terminations
  • Familiarity working with and bending Rigid/EMT and PVC over 2"
  • Ability to construct kindorf racks
  • Must work closely with project managers and foremen throughout the entire build process
  • Must be able to use applications and email to make daily job reports, submit photo files and commission/diag systems

Requirements:

  • Clean / Valid Drivers License is a must. We will run your license.
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Extensive knowledge of the NEC
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Must be comfortable working with high voltage
  • Hard working and detailed oriented
  • Owns basic power and hand tools
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Solar experience not necessary
