Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Rights Litigation Attorney with 8 years of experience who is available to work in New York City. The ideal candidate will have complex civil rights experience and be comfortable handling a range of responsibilities, from performing legal research and developing case strategy to drafting briefs and motions and appearing in federal court. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Represent individuals and groups in complex civil rights litigation before federal courts
- Draft clear, compelling briefs, motions, and memoranda in support of civil rights cases
- Communicate directly with clients, providing counsel and updates
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in New York
- At least 8 years of litigation experience focused on civil rights law or constitutional law
- Exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to be first chair at hearings and trial
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
