Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3 years (ONLY, a third year associate) of business litigation experience to join its Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the New York office.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling complex commercial matters in both state and federal courts.

& Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all phases of litigation, including written and document discovery

  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and other court filings

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Preparing witnesses for testimony

  • Appearing at court conferences and arguing motions

  • Participating in settlement discussions and negotiations

  • Supporting trial preparation efforts

Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact directly with clients and partners.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • J.D. from an accredited law school
    • Admission to practice law in New York
    • At least three years of business litigation experience
    • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
    • Proficiency in handling cases in state and federal courts
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working on complex commercial litigation matters
    • Background in managing clients and providing strategic legal counsel
    • Knowledge or experience in specific industries relevant to commercial litigation
