Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Description
CTG is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to join our client’s team in Corning, NY. This senior-level position requires a hands-on mechanical design engineer with extensive experience in developing, installing, and debugging mechanical equipment used in manufacturing environments. You will be responsible for designing robust equipment using SolidWorks, supporting installations, and working with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
• 10+ years of mechanical equipment design experience
• Proficient in SolidWorks
• Competent in structural FEA analysis
• Experience with equipment design, installation, start-up, and debug in manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles including mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design
• Ability to manage electrical and mechanical trades during equipment install and debug
• Familiarity with machine guarding and OSHA safety standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in diverse and cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Qualifications:
• Proven ability to independently determine and develop engineering solutions
• Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel (up to 25%) for supplier visits and equipment checkouts
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed
