Luggage Repair Technician

Location: On Site - Warehouse – Hauppauge, NY

What to Expect

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our world-renowned culture as a Luggage Repair Technician with our Briggs & Riley brand. This is a vital role that will play an important part in our company’s continued growth.

Your Impact

You will contribute to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that our Briggs & Riley luggage repairs meet and exceed our company and industry standards. We pride ourselves on the Briggs & Riley “Simple As That” Lifetime Guarantee and this role is the key to that success!

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspecting articles for defects and remove damaged or worn-out parts, using hand tools
  • Repairing luggage to functionality as per warranty
  • Repairing or replacing hardware and wheels using repair equipment
  • Aligning and stitching materials such as fabric, seams etc.
  • Re-sewing seams and replacing handles or defective parts of suitcases

Qualifications

  • Prior technical, hands-on repair experience required; experience with handbags/luggage/backpacks/soft goods repair preferred.
  • Prior experience using power hand tools such as drills, screw guns, etc.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 15-20 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Time management skills and experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, assemble and repair products.
  • Ability to read basic orders and directions in English is preferred.
  • Computer experience is a plus, but not required.

Travel Expectations

  • None

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm EST
  • On site every day
