Job Title: Mechanical System Engineer
Location: Olean, NY, USA And Houston, TX, USA
Duration: 12+ Months
We are seeking an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of installing machinery efficiently and effectively.
Note: Candidates with oil rig experience will not be considered.
Candidates must possess experience with rotating equipment compressors.
Job Requirements
- Oversee the mechanical and system technical scope for the supply of new packaged rotating equipment for both onshore and offshore projects, including gas turbine-compressors, electric motor-driven compressor trains, and extended plant scope elements such as coolers and scrubbers.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineer to address technical concerns from internal and external clients seamlessly.
- Uphold the highest engineering standards within the mechanical engineering department throughout the design and manufacture processes.
- Troubleshoot and comprehend compressor and process system designs from a mechanical perspective, integrating these systems with electrical and controls systems, including lube oil, fuel gas, and seal gas systems.
- Develop contract P IDs and Instrumentation wiring diagrams using COMOS.
- Support production in equipment assembly through detailed work instructions and redlining drawings.
- Conduct technical calculations for projects, such as component sizing and fluid flow calculations/analysis.
- Provide technical and field service support through the end of warranty and transition to service phase.
- Manage the Mechanical Engineering schedule, ensuring prompt release of equipment specifications, bills of material, and customer documentation.
- Monitor and manage the allocated Engineering budget.
- Interact professionally with customers and represent the company as a technical subject matter expert.
- Report directly to the Systems Engineering Manager.
Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred, with an M.S. degree being a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with rotating equipment is essential.
- Proven ability to read and translate client specifications into manufacturing and purchase specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required.
- Experience with Engineering/PLM software such as Teamcenter, NX, E3, COMOS, and/or Jira.
- Familiarity with API614, API692 API617 standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
