About the Role:

CoreWeave is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role will support the organization's compliance initiatives by assisting with KYC, regulatory research, policy development, risk assessments, and internal investigations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in compliance work, an interest in regulatory law and is eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will report to an Associate General Counsel and you will work closely with key stakeholders, including GRC, Sales, Finance, Accounting, People, Corporate Development and Securities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage company-wide KYC:
    • Timely review KYC outputs
    • Identify discrepancies, gaps, or red flags in KYC outputs and escalate cases requiring enhanced due diligence or further legal review
    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of KYC policies, procedures, and controls
    • Maintain clear and accurate records of KYC assessments, rationale for risk ratings, and escalation decisions
  • Review and help draft compliance-related documents, contracts, disclosures, and reports
  • Conduct legal research on a variety of complex regulatory and compliance matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments at the international, federal, state, and local levels
  • Support internal investigations, audits, and risk assessments
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and assist with regulatory filings
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, risk, audit, and operational teams to promote a culture of compliance
  • Support other projects, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulations into practical, actionable guidance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, collaborate with diverse business groups, and build interdepartmental relationships at all levels
  • Excellent drafting, project management, legal interpretation, and research skills
  • A commitment to professional conduct, excellence and meticulous attention to detail, sometimes under time pressure
  • J.D. degree & membership in at least one state bar (Washington DC, New York, New Jersey, California or Washington preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with compliance management systems and tools

  • Demonstrated interest in compliance and risk management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,000 - $110,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also includes a discretionary bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Our Workplace

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration
