Job Title: Residential Program Assistant
Location: Bronx
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary to permanent
Shift: Morning, Evening, Overnight, Weekend]
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Residential Program Assistant to join our team supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment within the residential program. You will engage with residents empathetically while ensuring facility safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor the facility and perform regular rounds to promote a secure and stable environment

Build rapport with residents through approachable, trauma-informed interactions

Manage conflicts and respond to challenging behaviors with calm, safety-focused de-escalation

Screen residents and visitors upon entry to ensure safety protocols are followed

Maintain accurate and timely written documentation, including logbook entries, incident reports, and progress notes

Conduct supply inventory and restock program materials as needed
-
Participate in fire safety drills, maintain fire logs, and support emergency preparedness

Administer emergency first aid/CPR and NARCAN as required

Assist with facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance and cleanliness

Escort clients to appointments or services as needed

Serve meals and help maintain a clean and orderly facility

Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a residential setting preferred
-
Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to remain calm and responsive in crisis situations
-
CPR, First Aid, and NARCAN certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Ability to maintain clear documentation and follow safety protocols
