Remote Attorney - Insurance Coverage
Location: Buffalo, NY (candidates can be remote, but must be located in NY and willing to travel occasionally for in-person court appearances at depositions)
Salary: $90K-$140K Base
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Attorney to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation in various matters, with a strong focus on insurance coverage and litigation. Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including trials and hearings.
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in insurance and coverage matters.
- Negotiate settlements and resolutions for clients.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on complex cases.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of case progress and activities.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in insurance and litigation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 1 + years of experience New York-admitted insurance coverage analysis and litigation attorney. Pleading, deposition, discovery, and motion practice are preferred. No-fault arbitration and litigation experience is also a plus
- Ideal candidates will have litigation experience in complex insurance coverage, including commercial first-party insurance, reinsurance, third-party liability, professional liability, and bad faith coverage.
- Proven experience as an Attorney, with a focus on insurance coverage and litigation.
- Strong understanding of insurance law, commercial litigation, and insurance defense.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
