Precipart. located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire skilled and experienced Gear Machinists to set up and operate gear hobbing machines in our**Gear department.**We're looking for highly skilled Machinists with experience using gear hobbing machines to cut high-quality gears machined to our customer specifications and quality standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Set up and run up to two gear hobbing machines

• Load and unload parts in the machine

• Start the machining cycle

• Inspect dimensions of finished pieces

• Change tooling as needed

• Hold tight tolerance of +/- .0002

• Meet quality standards and production schedules

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

• Experience setting up and operating CNC gear hobbing machines such as Gleason P-60, Koepfer Horizontal Gear Cutter, Fellows 10-4, and Nidec SE

• Should demonstrate interest and aptitude in this line of work

• Must know all aspects of gear hobbing

• Experience working to very close tolerances (+/- .0002)

• Experience with reading blue prints for mechanical components

• Experience inspecting parts and using inspection tools

• Good aptitude for shop math

• Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet production schedule

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

• Able to stand for duration of shift and lift up to 40lbs

• Able to work 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm during the week and overtime including Saturday as needed is preferred

**PAY RANGE**$23.00 to $46.00 an hour

• Blueprint Reading

Salary info:

$23 - $45 / hr
