Industrial Machine Mechanic Operator
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
Location: Waverly NY
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
The Industrial Machine Mechanic/Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient
operation of industrial machinery used in the manufacturing process. This includes setting
up machines, monitoring performance, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that
production targets and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial machines in accordance with company
procedures and safety standards.
• Set up machines for daily operation, including calibration, cleaning, Change over
and adjustment of settings.
• Ability to operate machinery to obtain OEE goals
• Coordinate with parts department on spare parts needed for machine centers.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and repair issues as needed
• Follow production schedules and work orders to meet daily targets.
• Maintain accurate production and machine maintenance records.
• Ensure workplace cleanliness and adhere to safety and environmental protocols.
• Use of Work Order and PM system
• Participate in training and development programs as required.
• Must have ability to work off shift from time to time to help with coverage and
training.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Organization and cleanliness
• Proven experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or production
setting.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of machinery and tools.
• Basic understanding of electrical
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Basic computer skills and experience with production software (preferred).
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [insert weight]) and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
• Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery,
and temperature variations.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or holidays depending on production needs.
Preferred Skills:
• Forklift certification or other relevant equipment certifications.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Familiarity with safety and compliance standards such as OSHA.
