JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for District Manager to manage the Live Goods Merchandising from Green Circle Growers in the Rochester, NY area.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manage and maintain each store in his or her district. Ensure all areas of merchandising is executed in all areas of each store (Front Apron, Garden Center, Monster Rack, A-Frame, HPA, Plant Rack, Inside Store) you manage where communication has been given by the Merchandising Operations Manager as well as the Merchandising Guides set in place
- Keep in constant contact with their Regional Manager. Provide all information passed along by their Merchandising Operations Manager and/or Regional Manager to all their seasonal merchandisers
- Over communicate with the Regional Manager, merchandisers, and store associates. Build and maintain positive relationships with each store associates (i.e. District Managers, Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Department Head, Garden Associates ect).
- Ensure all stores in the DMs district is walk ready always. This includes but not limited to, price signage, general merchandising and keeping a neat and clean garden area, HPA area and all plant racks.
- Provide weekly pictures of every store they manage to the Regional Manager and Merchandising Operations Manager.
- Manage the hourly merchandising labor budget given to you each month by the Regional Manager to ensure the budget stays inline each month as well as executing any additional savings where you can in your region
- Training of seasonal merchandisers. Must give the tools and knowledge needed to sustain a functional and walk ready garden center. DMs will be provided store layouts which they must follow to ensure all garden centers in their district stay uniform. Instill in each merchandiser the importance of communication and building relationships with store associates. Provide seasonal merchandisers with the merchandiser apps so they are trained on recording culls, empty carts, and reviewing orders.
Requirements:
- Reliable Transportation
- Weekends are required in May and June as well the following Holidays. (Mother’s Day/Memorial Day, 4th of July)
- Must be self-motivated; and able to maintain a flexible job schedule
- Must be able to lift/pull 50+ pounds
- Must enjoy working outside as we work in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
