Litigation Associate — Trademark & Copyright Litigation
Location: Chicago, IL or New York, NY | Hybrid

Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm with a national presence that is currently seeking a mid-level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join its Intellectual Property and Technology group in Chicago or New York. About the Role:
This is a hands-on litigation position involving trademark and copyright disputes, anti-counterfeiting litigation, and online enforcement. The Associate will manage and contribute to all phases of litigation, including:

  • Drafting complaints, TROs, and preliminary injunctions

  • Conducting high-volume discovery

  • Preparing and taking depositions

  • Drafting dispositive motions

  • Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements

Qualifications:

  • 3–4 years of litigation experience, preferably from a regional or national law firm

  • Experience managing written discovery, drafting briefs, taking or preparing depositions

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Admission to practice in Illinois or New York (or eligibility to waive in)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $250,000 – $275,000, depending on experience and location
