Job Description

The Full-Time Permanent Substitute Special Education Teacher will be responsible for implementing lesson plans for students with developmental disabilities in accordance with NYSED Guidelines.

  • 12 month position (school calendar plus 6 week summer session)
  • Hours: 8:00-3:00 Monday to Friday
  • 12 month salary:
    1. Bachelors: $48,300
    2. Masters: $51,500
  • Medical, dental, vision and Aflac plans available; paid sick/personal time; paid school breaks and holidays; 403B plan
  • Discounted Child Care (full or part time) available on-site

The successful candidate will possess:

  • NYSED certification: Students with Disabilities Birth - Grade 2,

Students with Disabilities 1-6, or Students with Disabilities All Grades

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis highly preferred
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • Ability to implement differentiated instruction in accordance with NYSED standards
