Job Description – Sales & Buying Associate

Location: Once Upon A Child Syracuse
Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

We’re looking for friendly, energetic team members who are passionate about providing great customer service in a fast-paced, fun, and family-focused retail environment. As a Sales & Buying Associate at Once Upon A Child Syracuse, you'll help create a positive experience for our customers while supporting our mission of sustainability and value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, assess their needs, and provide personalized assistance.
• Exhibit confident selling and buying behaviors that align with company standards.
• Assist customers through the full buying or selling process with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Recommend merchandise based on product knowledge, features, and benefits to best meet customer needs.
• Accurately evaluate and purchase gently used items from customers based on company buying guidelines.
• Encourage repeat business by promoting the buy-sell-trade model and the value of shopping secondhand.
• Price and ticket merchandise appropriately, restock the sales floor, and maintain clean and organized displays.
• Follow visual merchandising standards and store housekeeping procedures.
• Operate our computerized Point of Sale (POS) system for all sales, returns, and buying transactions.

Requirements:

• Availability to work Saturday or Sunday is required.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong communicator.
• Interest in children's products, fashion, sustainability, or resale is a plus!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
