Quality Engineer (Manufacturing Operations)

Position Summary
This role partners directly with production teams to proactively build quality into manufacturing processes rather than relying solely on inspection. The Quality Engineer works hands-on with operations to reduce defects, improve process consistency, and drive measurable gains in yield, reliability, and overall performance. Success in this position comes from strong floor presence, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration across engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities

Provide daily on-the-floor support to production and manufacturing teams

Monitor processes and identify early signs of variation or risk

Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions

Reduce scrap, rework, and downtime through continuous improvement initiatives

Partner with tooling, maintenance, and engineering on equipment and process changes

Track and analyze quality and process metrics to drive improvements

Support quality systems, audits, and standard operating procedures

Ensure product and process compliance with internal and customer requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)

2+ years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial setting

Experience with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods

Strong mechanical/process aptitude and comfort working in a production environment

Proficiency with Excel or similar data analysis tools

CAD or technical drawing experience is a plus
