Title: Cleaner with Light Maintenance and Repair
Position Type: Full-Time (Sunday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Schedule: 40-hour work week

Overview:
Hope For Youth is seeking a dedicated and dependable individual to join our Facilities team. The Cleaner with Light Maintenance and Repair responsibilities include daily and deep cleaning tasks across multiple sites, along with supporting light maintenance work. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow directions to maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and deep cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens/break rooms, common areas, and windows.

  • Dry/wet mopping, vacuuming, and surface sanitizing.

  • Light maintenance and repairs such as painting, gutter cleaning, minor plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets), and outdoor groundskeeping.

  • Assist the maintenance team with special projects and facility needs.

  • Respond promptly to work orders and emergency cleaning needs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of tasks and follow cleaning schedules.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations.

Success in this role requires:

  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations.

  • Willingness to adjust schedule for emergencies or special needs (e.g., snow removal, urgent repairs).

  • Adherence to agency policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Time Allocation:

  • 90%: Cleaning, maintenance, repair, and documentation

  • 10%: Supervision, training, and meetings

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Flexible availability and ability to respond to emergencies

  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting, using equipment/tools, prolonged standing/walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and driving

  • Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing
