Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery and equipment.
Job Responsibilities:

- Install and commission facility machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop, write, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with operators and maintenance personnel across shifts.
- Maintain, organize, and secure tools and equipment.
- Clean and maintain assigned work areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Benefits begin on Day 1 (vacation, health insurance, 401(k))
- $350 annual tool allowance
- Day shift: typically 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, with overtime availability
- Overtime pay:
- \n
- 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 8 per day and Saturdays
- 2x hourly rate for hours worked over 12 per day and Sundays

- Shift premiums for hours worked outside the typical 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM schedule
- Meal allowance for shifts exceeding 12 hours
- Paid lunch and shower time
- Paid training as required
- Each mechanic is assigned a personal golf cart with toolbox
- Uniforms and work boots provided

Safety & Health:
Maintenance Mechanics are required to work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:
- \n
- Attending all required safety meetings
- Immediately reporting unsafe conditions to leadership
- Maintaining tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Reviewing and understanding safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Job Safety Information (JSI)
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas
- Proactively identifying and addressing safety concerns

Work Environment:
Work conditions are typical of a chemical manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable working around chemicals, including herbicides and insecticides.
Physical requirements include:

- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and overhead reaching
- Lifting materials up to 50 pounds
- Climbing ladders and stairs
- Working at elevated heights (e.g., roofs, dust collectors)
- Working outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed

Operation of machinery and tools requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.
Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience preferred in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
- Advanced skills in one or more of the following areas:
- \n
- HVAC
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Piping systems

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency in all aspects of welding
- Basic operating skills with lathes, mills, presses, and brakes
- Ability to safely operate all hand tools

Compensation: $35.85 to $39.41 per hour
