Job Description
The following are required for the position:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- Substantial experience with multinational law firms and/or multinational corporations
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound business judgment and provide practical legal solutions across a wide range of regulatory matters.
- Proven success leading and collaborating with cross-functional, multi-stakeholder teams to address complex legal and operational challenges.
- Strong aptitude for quickly understanding technical and regulatory issues related to chemical manufacturing, product stewardship, and global compliance requirements.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. environmental and chemical control laws, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and TSCA.
- Experience advising on environmental remediation obligations under Superfund and comparable state-level programs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated growth mindset and adaptability in navigating global legal and regulatory landscapes.
- Uncompromising integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to excellence in legal practice.
The following are preferred for the position:
- BS or higher degree in a relevant technical field, such as chemistry, environmental science, or engineering
- Experience with a practice supporting a broad range of regulatory matters
- International experience in EHS and/or chemical control laws and regulations
- Government affairs/advocacy experience
