Job Title: RN – Med/Surg
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Hours Per Week: 34.5
Pay Rate: Local: Up to $59/hour | Travel: Up to $72/hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking RN – Med/Surg for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans with healthcare team
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Adjust specialized medical equipment and record measurements
- Monitor patient vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly
- Collaborate with healthcare team on discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care
- Maintain and update patient files, charts, and medical records
- Follow nursing standards, protocols, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in acute care or post-acute facility
- Recent experience within the past year
- Physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, infection control
- IV therapy, post-operative care, patient education, telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills
- EPIC EMR experience
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- New York State RN License
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Queens only
