TITLE: Commercial Portfolio Manager

LOCATION: Headquarters

REPORTS TO: Commercial Portfolio Administrator

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt

PAY GRADE: EX 55 ($60,405 - 85,000 per year)

AVAILABILITY: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Position Summary:

Manages all aspects of a portfolio of commercial customer relationships as assigned by management, with primary responsibility for maintaining portfolio credit risk oversight as outlined within Pioneer’s commercial loan policies and procedures. Responsibilities include financial statement tracking and collection, deposit account support, covenant tracking and calculation preparation, annual review/renewals tracking and preparation, Risk Rating changes and tracking, Construction Monitoring, Homebuilder loan monitoring, and land development loan monitoring and administration. Works in partnership with commercial and branch sales teams, underwriting and loan administration to make sure the clients enjoy positive and seamless client experiences.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Manage all aspects of a portfolio of existing commercial loan customers as assigned by management from closing until payoff.
  2. Becomes an active part of the relationship “team” working closely with the relationship manager, the client, and client’s professional advisors in monitoring relationships for compliance with both the terms and conditions of the loan agreement and Pioneer’s internal policies and procedures for Commercial loan administration.
  3. Primary responsibility for the tracking and timely collection of borrower financial statement requirements. Works closely with commercial customers to obtain financials, borrowing base certificates, covenant compliance certificates. Works with the Commercial Portfolio Administrator to ensure all internal and contractual obligations are met for covenant tracking, calculation, borrowing base certificates, covenant compliance certificates and the preparation for the submission of relationship annual reviews.
  4. Utilizes the Bank’s software program to administer the portfolio management process, including necessary updates to status, and the submission of requests to underwriting.
  5. Primary responsibility for tracking all commercial construction loans, homebuilder lines of credit and infrastructure loans. Responsible for reviewing construction loan draws, maintaining budgets and performing property inspections. Works with Loan Administration to ensure all loans are monitored within policy, following established policy and procedures. Involved with providing lot releases, and other aspects of the construction loan administration, as applicable.
  6. Acts as a problem solver for operational issues between Commercial Banking Officers, Commercial Servicing Team, Cash Management, Business Banking, and other departments.
  7. Maintains current knowledge of Pioneer’s products, services, and processes. Maintains familiarity with all credits in assigned portfolio, and is actively involved with servicing client’s needs; interacts with Commercial Lending, Underwriting and Commercial Services as needed in order to ensure commercial risk policy is followed, and that client experience is outstanding.
  8. Performs additional duties as requested.

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required. Five years’ experience as a Commercial Credit Analyst can be substituted for the educational requirement.
  2. Two years’ experience in a Commercial Credit Analyst position preferred.
  3. Flexibility with regard to work schedule (some evenings and Saturdays).
  4. Able to organize workload and meet deadlines.
  5. Access to transportation on short notice and ability to travel between local offices required.
  6. Motivated and enthusiastic team player who embodies the IMAGINE culture.
  7. An understanding of retail banking functions and procedures to assist clients on a daily basis.
