Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Quality Engineer for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.
Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of products and processes of the organization. This role collaborates closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure that manufacturing operations comply with internal quality standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Quality Engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support corrective and preventive actions, and play a key role in new product introduction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal and customer-related issues.
- Perform internal audits and assist with external audits, including ISO 9001 and other compliance requirements.
- Review and interpret product specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes to identify critical quality requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and customer complaints effectively and timely.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance data, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Support qualification and validation activities for new products and changes to existing processes.
- Conduct supplier audits and collaborate with vendors to ensure quality compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality processes, inspections, and test results.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on quality standards and continuous improvement practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.).
- Proficiency with quality inspection tools and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma is preferred but not required.
