Role and Team
This role supports the ADESA businesses and customers by inspecting vehicles for condition, wear, tear, neglect, missing parts, mechanical issues, previous repairs, and damage/structural damage. Complete required vehicle inspection promptly and accurately including imaging and uploading results of the vehicle condition. Interact with dealers and consumers as needed professionally as the face of ADESA and its collective businesses.
Responsibilities and Duties:

<li>Provide prompt and courteous service. Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment consistent with company policy.</li>
<li>Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous and efficient service from all employees.</li>
<li>Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the facility designated manager of all serious complaints or incidents.</li>
<li>Maintain current information on manufacturer updates and changes concerning vehicles. </li>
<li>Perform arbitration detail inspection and test drive of vehicles to assist in determining if damage or mechanical operating condition meets the program standards as defined by the account or contract. Notify designated supervisor or manager when a vehicle does not meet the standards as defined by the account or contract.</li>
<li>Maintain a working knowledge on improvements and changes concerning body shop labor; maintain knowledge of current rates, labor and parts charges to ensure that repair orders are completed correctly. </li>
<li>Submit completed arbitration inspection reports to the designated supervisor or manager by download from hand-held device or submission of written report.</li>
<li>Ensure proper follow through on all directives, bulletins, schedules and reports from auction management and corporate sources. Maintain a good flow of information and communication with all personnel.</li>
<li>Monitor all shop area conditions, vehicles, property and equipment to ensure they are within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety.</li>
<li>Maintain good operating condition of all equipment. Advise the facility designated manager of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately.</li>
<li>Make sure all shop conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee or customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the facility designated manager immediately per auction policy.</li>
<li>Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.</li>

Educational Requirements and Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, a basic knowledge of automotive components and systems, and basic computer skills preferred, along with two (2) years mechanical or body shop experience. Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
