RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing one-on-one and couples personalized fitness instruction in person to clients at their home, apartment gym or outside while encouraging them to reach their fitness goals. Responsibilities are as follows:

<li>Report the status of injured student-athletes to the coaching staff as directed</li>
<li>Collaborate and maintain a good working relationship with the strength and conditioning staff regarding strength and conditioning, flexibility, nutrition, supplements and ergogenic aids, injury prevention, exercise technique, and rehabilitation of student-athletes</li>
</ul>
Input and maintenance of medical records:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the compilation, input, and organization of daily medical records</li>
<li>Share the responsibility of maintaining and organizing the Athletic Training Room (ATR) file system, including medical records, insurance claims and medical bills in compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Empire 8 rules and regulations</li>
</ul>
Athletics team, coaches, and other staff:
<ul>
<li>Attend scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary</li>
<li>Meet regularly with selected coaching personnel to identify problem areas and to establish treatment goals for the respective student-athletes</li>
<li>Travel with athletic teams as necessary and as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer</li>
<li>Work in conjunction with the various coaching staff and other personnel regarding student-athlete nutrition issues, including but not limited to, training camp and travel menus</li>
<li>Maintain a good working relationship with the coaching staff and athletic administration, equipment room staff, and facilities/equipment manager</li>
<li>Maintain good working relationships with facilities and grounds department regarding the safety of practice and competition surfaces and general field/court conditions</li>
</ul>
Athletic training facilities, equipment, and&nbsp; supplies:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the inventory, receiving, and stocking of all Athletic Training Facility supplies and equipment</li>
<li>Share in the responsibility of Athletic Training Facility maintenance and upkeep</li>
</ul>
Administration, rules, and regulations:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the enforcement of the Division of Sports Medicine code of conduct and rules and regulations for the use of the athletic training facilities and equipment</li>
<li>Assist with the organization and administration of the NCAA and in-house substance abuse testing program</li>
<li>Organize and administer an Exposure Control Plan for Blood-borne Pathogens as dictated by the State of New York and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), including:
<ul>
<li>Annual training sessions</li>
<li>Coordinating the disposal of hazardous waste</li>
<li>Compliance with OSHA and state standards and procedures</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
Supervision of athletic training students:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the organization, administration, supervision, and education of athletic training students, including but not limited to:
<ul>
<li>Formal clinical evaluation of athletic training students through mid- and encl-of semester evaluations</li>
<li>Field supervision of assigned athletic training students</li>
<li>Mentorship and positive role model for athletic training students</li>
<li>Provide constructive feedback and positive support for athletic training students</li>
<li>Assist athletic training students in their preparation for the Board of Certification examination</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Advise and direct the graduate assistant, intern athletic trainer(s), and athletic training students regarding any and all duties</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Program Director for the Division of Health and Human Performance regarding the performance, education, and preparation of athletic training students</li>
</ul>
Professional development:
<ul>
<li>Complete annual end-of-season athletic training reports for individual teams</li>
<li>Represent Alfred University and the Division of Sports Medicine at university, conference, and/or national meetings as required or requested</li>
<li>Maintain certification requirements of the Board of Certification (BOC) and the State of New York</li>
<li>Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols</li>
<li>Additional duties:
<ul>
<li>Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned</li>
</ul>
