ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Floating Direct Support Professional will include, but are not limited to the following:

<li>Provide support as a Direct Support Professional in various designated programs, based on need.</li>
<li>Provides care and assists with the personal development and independence of the people we support.</li>

CAMBA operates 6 single adult shelters and 6 family shelters and one drop in center. The&nbsp;Broadway House Women’s Shelter&nbsp;in Bushwick serves 200 women, approximately 100 of whom are mentally ill and chemically addicted
Position: Residential Aide
Reports To: Shift Supervisor&nbsp;
Location: 1245 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11221
What The Residential Aide Does:
<ul>
<li>Intervene and diffuse inappropriate client interaction, as necessary.</li>
<li>Monitor clients’ behavior and report client changes in behavior or personal care to Supervisor and/or appropriate social services staff.</li>
<li>Ensure that clients receive personal care products and laundry products weekly, and replace any personal care items as needed.</li>
<li>Sort, count, and bag bed linens, blankets, and towels (may wash, dry and fold).</li>
<li>Distribute clean bed linens, blankets, pillows, and towels to residents.</li>
<li>Monitor residents’ use of laundry facilities.</li>
<li>Strip former residents’ lockers, bags and tags belongings, carry bags to storage area, and store bags for safekeeping.</li>
<li>Retrieve personal property of former residents upon their return.</li>
<li>Change and launder bed linens, blankets, and towels and prepare residents’ quarters for new residents.</li>
<li>Escort clients to appointments as needed.</li>
<li>Prepare kitchen and dining facilities for mealtimes and clean up after each meal.</li>
<li>Prepare paper goods, setups and condiments for mealtimes.</li>
<li>Set up coffee and hot water urns before each meal.</li>
<li>Prepare and serve sandwiches.</li>
<li>Collect garbage in bags and remove to appropriate storage location.</li>
<li>Research clients using the DHS SCIMS computer system.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or G.E.D. and/or equivalent experience.</li>
</ul>
Other Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Participate in Department of Health Food Protection 15 hour Course, pass exam and become a certified Food Handler.</li>
<li>Must obtain Annual PPD Test.</li>
<li>May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified.</li>
<li>May be required to become certified in overdose prevention.</li>
<li>Bi-lingual preferred</li>
</ul>
Compensation: $18.50 hourly When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position &amp; program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.&nbsp;This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

A 14-year-old male in the Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with being active in his community, improving his social skills and assist him with choosing activities of his liking. He spends most of his time playing video games but also enjoys swimming, playing in the snow, drawing/painting, roller skating and bowling.
 
The ideal candidate must be creative and engaging, active and patient, and willing to travel to different locations. The ideal candidate must be willing to go outside.
 
Hours and days of work: Saturday's from 12:00pm-4:00PM up to 5 hours a week.
 
Starting pay: Starting pay is $18.50
 
Location: Syracuse, NY
 
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Must be at least 18 years old.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.</li>
<li>Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills</li>
