Project Oversight and Execution:
<ul>
<li>Receive job folders from the assembly and machine manager as they are released and distribute them to the correct staff</li>
<li>Upon completion of job folder complete all manufacturing operations and ensure material has been properly issued. Deliver folder to the production planner</li>
<li>Ensure successful project execution within the department, meeting objectives, timelines, and quality standards</li>
<li>Coordinate workflow and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity</li>
<li>Overseeday-to-day shop production activities within one’s respective area of ownership to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding production expectations</li>
</ul>
 
Team Leadership and Management:
<ul>
<li>All staff of the Finish dept report directly to Finish manager</li>
<li>Perform annual reviews for all direct reports</li>
<li>Train staff on the skills required to work in the finish dept. maintain a system of regular cross training to ensure the company has multiple staff trained on all necessary finish skills</li>
<li>Lead, manage, and inspire the department team to perform at their best</li>
<li>Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure team members are clear on their roles and responsibilities</li>
<li>Mentor and coach team members, focusing on developing their technical and professional skills</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for training and growth, fostering continuous improvement within the team</li>
<li>Work with the team to train and oversee new employees on-boarding and development, communicating job expectations, appraising contributions and resolving conflicts where and when necessary</li>
</ul>
 
Resource and Budget Management:
<ul>
<li>Manage departmental resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to ensure optimal project outcomes</li>
<li>Work within budgetary constraints and provide input on cost-saving opportunities</li>
<li>Maintain forward awareness of critical production schedule deadlines, anticipating roadblocks and delays to proactively resolve issues in advance</li>
</ul>
 
Compliance and Safety Oversight:
<ul>
<li>Always maintain clean and organized workspaces in the department</li>
<li>Oversee the use of correct use of Lock Out tagging for equipment in the department</li>
<li>Always be aware of safety practices in real time in the department</li>
<li>Stop any unsafe behavior immediately</li>
<li>Train all staff on the company’s safety standards and practices upon hiring and refresh the staff often</li>
<li>Plan ahead with the staff for any material handling that could risk injuries</li>
<li>Discipline any staff that ignores safety standards and practices</li>
<li>Promote a culture of see something, say something to all staff regarding safety</li>
<li>Ensure department operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards</li>
<li>Promote a culture of safety and responsibility within the team</li>
<li>Adhere to safety protocols, including the safe operation of machines and equipment, and report any safety issues or concerns</li>
<li>Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all legal regulations and OSHA requirements</li>
</ul>
 
Quality control and Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Receive and inspect incoming material and parts, ensure project specs are met
<ul>
<li>Inspect parts produced by Finish department for quality. Promote a culture of QC at the source within the department and hold staff accountable for passing on parts with quality problems</li>
<li>Check jobs for completeness and proper part labeling before product is advanced to the next dept</li>
<li>Lead and/or participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes, increasing efficiency, and enhancing the quality of work produced by the department</li>
<li>Observe fabrication techniques and processes with a careful eye and works to improve them</li>
</ul>
 
Required Skills and Abilities:
ERP experience preferred but not required, internal development available for the appropriate candidate
<ul>
<li>The ability to read and understand 3D renderings, digital architectural drawings and custom millwork shop drawings</li>
<li>Knowledge of hardware and materials common in architectural fabrication</li>
<li>Subject Matter expert in all areas of Finish</li>
<li>Communication – Effectively conveys accurate information to coworkers, Team Leaders, and supervisors while carrying out tasks</li>
<li>Reading Comprehension - Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents</li>
<li>Quality Control Analysis - Ability to Examine products, services, or processes to evaluate their quality</li>
<li>Efficiency – Balances quality and timeliness while carrying out shop assignments</li>
<li>Active Listening - Gives full attention to what other people are saying, takes time to understand the points being made, asks questions as appropriate</li>
<li>Digital Literacy - Proficient in use of electronic communication Email and Microsoft teams, Microsoft office suite, as well as the company’s payroll and HR software platforms</li>
<li>Knowledge of different materials and their handling requirements</li>

<li>Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise</li>
