We are seeking a Power Plant Mechanicto join the $19.5 billion Redevelopment Program at JFK Airport. The Power Plant Mechanic will be the mechanical field point of contact for upcoming projects. This position has deep experience with mechanical trades with the capabilities of resolving issues at the trades level. This position will also act as a field project team member and will aid the local Project Manager(s) of Construction to guide the project team from issued for construction engineering to startup/commissioning.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Review scope of project and ensure completeness regarding permit requirements.</li>
<li>Follow and aid local PM with close out field RFIs. </li>

<li>Follow one-line diagrams as well as PMCDs and have a general understanding of most up to date technologies.</li>

Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>At least 10 years of mechanical trades skillset (industrial work).</li>
<li>Has had at least one assignment working in thermal plants or HVAC buildings. </li>
<li>Experience with plant permit writing (issuing, auditing, and closing out safe work permits) and following general safety standards of typical power plants.</li>
<li>Has experience on heavy, industrial mechanical equipment.</li>
</ul>
Hourly Rate: $65/hour - $85/hour

SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
<ul>
<li>Design and develop engineered systems and subsystems as a member of a project team.</li>
<li>Deepen the understanding of products, customers, goals, organization, and business strategies, evaluating systems and processes, and identifying improvement needs.</li>
<li>Develop and implement processes that improve manufacturing production and deliver quality outputs.</li>
<li>Meet Schneider's quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices.</li>

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Equipment Design
o Design equipment using established design and drafting standards.
o Develop new mechanism and machine designs based on the needs of industry and current technologies. 
o Incorporate ancillary equipment into design projects.
o Recommend improvements in the company's offerings and work procedures utilizing the Action Request and EAR process.
o Execute projects within established scope, timeline, and budget.
o Identify issues and provide corrective actions to keep projects on track and within defined project scope.
o Communicate designs with other areas of the company to allow for the efficient design, manufacture, and startup of the equipment.
o Provide mechanical design direction through installation and startup in the field until the customer has accepted the system. Traveling onsite if deemed necessary.

o Communicate in a manner that assures clarity and understanding with both internal and external customers.

o Contribute, as a member of a team of design professionals, to achieve project, department, and company goals.
Requirements:
 
· Education: 
o BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics
· Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in a design-build machinery manufacturing environment as a mechanical engineer using CAD software (Inventor/Vault preferred)
o Experience developing and successfully implementing engineering standards considered a plus
o Experience developing parametrically driven 3D models considered a plus
o Direct or indirect project management experience preferred.
· Skills: 
o Advanced 3D modeling within machine design using CAD software required.
o Strong preference toward Inventor and Vault experience
o Ability to properly size mechanical componentry (motors, pneumatic cylinders, valves, etc.) into mechanical assemblies that mount onto engineered tubular framing
o Ability to properly select correct sensor for application (photo eyes, switches, cameras, etc.)
o Ability to adhere to project requirements that include customer, Schneider, and industry standards
o Advanced Microsoft Office software skills required (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio)
