CAI, a national nonprofit organization that provides training, technical assistance, and other support to health care and social services agencies, is seeking a highly motivated professional for the full-time position of Job Coach, Community Health Worker Training and Apprenticeship Project. Under the direction of the Lead, Workforce Development, this individual is responsible for managing the delivery of job-readiness Coaching to support trainees in CAI’s Community Health Worker Training Certificate Project (CHWTP) as well as Coaching to partner agencies to prepare and support them for successful adoption of new trainees and apprentices from the Project. 
JOB SUMMARY: 
We are seeking a highly relationship-focused candidate with experience in workforce development and providing counseling/coaching services to a complex client portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience in utilizing motivational interviewing skills, a passion for CAI’s mission, be a team player and a problem-solver, and have a proven track record of successfully supporting job-readiness of new health care and/or non-profit workers. The Job Coach will be responsible for supporting the ongoing management and provision of job readiness and wrap-around support to assist CHWTP trainees with successfully completing the program and entering the workforce. The Job Coach will work with trainees to ensure they are receiving the support they need to successfully complete the training certificate program and with agencies that are receiving the trainees to ensure that placement is successful. The Job Coach will work closely with CAI project staff and partner agencies to support trainee recruitment, ongoing supportive coaching, and placement. This is a highly relationship-focused and detail-oriented position that will be key in the retention of CHWs in the project.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
<ul>
<li>Build relationships with cadres of trainees as well as the agencies they are placed in.</li>
<li>Assist trainees with completing program and placement agency enrollment/onboarding paperwork. </li>
<li>Work closely with supervisors and staff at the placement agencies to make sure the trainees are completing onsite training and skills building and to address the needs of trainees as they emerge.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing support, guidance, and job-readiness coaching to CHW trainees through in-person and virtual meetings to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the training certificate and placement project.</li>
<li>Support trainees in identifying and addressing any challenges or barriers (such as childcare needs, medical appointments, mental and/or physical health conditions, an unstable housing situation, or medical or family emergencies) that may be negatively impact their abilities to successfully attend and complete the program.</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with trainees and placement agencies to ensure all parties are informed about the progress of the trainees and any issues that need to be addressed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other members of the training and placement team to develop and implement strategies for improving the project and increasing the retention of CHWs.</li>
<li>Work closely with project staff to ensure that the support provided to CHWs is tracked and documented, and budgets are maintained.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching support, including activities such as working together to develop resumes and LinkedIn accounts, setting and monitoring job-seeking goals, and connecting trainees with organizations within the project and partner networks.</li>
<li>Provide support for trainees not immediately employed to seek job opportunities and set goals for applying to positions of interest.</li>
<li>Work closely with project staff to support program recruitment, application, and admissions processes.</li>

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

<li>BSW, MSW, or a degree in a related field or at least 2 years experience as a case manager or counselor managing a complex client portfolio </li>
<li>Previous experience working on job-readiness programs preferred.</li>

Job Description
Chautauqua’s Boys and Girls Club is the longest running summer day camp in the United States. The program, for youth in second grade to tenth grade, embraces both tradition and the latest trends in youth education and engagement including field activities, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, nature, crafts, individual and team sports, music and experiences in the arts. The program hours are 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 2–4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
About Your Compensation 
Compensation for this position starts at $15.50/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $17.50/Hour. 
About Your Work Day 
Club Group Counselors serve as the primary leaders for camper groups at Chautauqua Institution’s Boys’ and Girls’ Club by ensuring a safe, fun, and supportive camp experience through the facilitation of a variety of activities from field games to dance parties and making lanyards. The Club Group Counselors report to the Club Director/Associate Director and are assigned to Head or Assistant Counselor positions. 
Essential Functions: 
<ul>
<li>Create a safe, welcoming environment in which all program participants, staff members, and families can fully participate.</li>
<li>Organize and direct camper transitions within programming as well as during check-in and check-out processes. </li>
<li>Lead community building initiatives to support an environment that is inclusive of all campers. </li>
<li>Support Club Assistant Office Manager/Program Coordinator to deliver special events. </li>
<li>Actively engage with campers while attending special program area activities under the direction of Club Specialty Counselors. </li>
<li>Respond quickly and effectively in cases of emergency. </li>
<li>Provide additional supervision during waterfront activities. </li>
<li>
Utilize CampDoc for assisting with camper record retention and distributing pertinent information to program staff members. 
</li>
<li>Develop and/or facilitate activities not led by program area specialists. </li>
<li>Supervise camp groups for activities outside the typical program spaces (Amphitheater, Bestor Plaza, Library, etc.) </li>
<li>May be asked to assist with supervision of groups for our trips. </li>
<li>Assist with maintaining and organizing program facilities. </li>
<li>Communicate with families regarding program activities and experiences of the campers. </li>
<li>Manage group and individual behavior. </li>
<li>Understand and comply with policies and procedures set forth by Chautauqua Institution and regulations determined by New York State legislation as related to operating a licensed children’s camp. </li>

About the Referral Program
Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.
About Your Schedule 
Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations starting annually each June and concluding in August. Seasonal employment may be available earlier (pre-season) and beyond season (post-season) based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as a requirement. 
While you will confirm your final schedule with management at the time of an interview and offer of employment, you should generally anticipate the following schedule options for this position: 
Will be primarily scheduled to work Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for an average of 30 hours/week. Scheduled hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
The week after the first day of operations a mandatory in-person three-day staff training session is scheduled. Virtual trainings may be held prior to the season.
There may be an opportunity to work additional hours in Youth &amp; Family Programs outside of this position. This will be discussed during the interview.
