Your Role as a Special Education Teacher:
<ul>
<li>Lead Classroom Instruction &amp; Planning - Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons each week in alignment with student needs and team input; contribute to team reviews with observations, concerns, and ideas.</li>
<li>Support Team Collaboration - Meet regularly with classroom staff to address challenges, align on plans, and ensure smooth team functioning.</li>
<li>Develop Individualized Goals - Create and maintain treatment plans based on the DIRFloortime® model, targeting each student's developmental profile and goals.</li>
<li>Coach and Supervise Classroom Staff - Provide ongoing coaching and training to teaching assistants and paraprofessionals; conduct annual performance evaluations.</li>
<li>Monitor Student Progress - Participate in IEP meetings and share insights on current levels of functioning; document progress through biannual reports, biweekly family updates, and entrance summaries for new students.</li>
<li>Partner with Families - Maintain open and regular communication with families to ensure alignment on student needs, goals, and progress.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team - Work alongside educators, therapists, and clinical staff to deliver comprehensive and coordinated support to each student. </li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum of bachelor's degree in special education with plan to continue with master's degree</li>
<li>Teacher Certification</li>
<li>Passion for Special Education through patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.</li>
</ul>
Preferred/Nice-to-have:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of DIRFloortime® is preferred, but not required.</li>
<li>Master's degree in special education.</li>

Your Role as a Special Education Paraprofessional

<li>Monitor &amp; Track Student Progress - Observe student behavior, document notes, and collaborate with the team to adjust support strategies to help students meet their goals.</li>
<li>Support Self-Help Skills - Assist students with toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene to foster independence and confidence in daily activities.</li>
<li>Ensure a Safe Learning Environment - Intervene when necessary, using de-escalation techniques, and calming strategies.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Teachers &amp; Families - Work closely with educators, therapists, BCBAs, and parents to provide consistent, individualized support.</li>

Required Qualifications:
