Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable & Bookkeeping Associate to support our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate recording of expenses, timely processing of payments, and assisting with monthly financial close activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and comfortable working with accounting software and spreadsheets.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Accurately enter and code vendor invoices in the accounting system.
Ensure invoices are properly authorized and supported.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and schedule payments (ACH, wire, checks) in a timely manner.
Maintain accounts payable records and ensure proper documentation.
Bookkeeping & Financial Support:
Assist in general ledger entries and maintenance.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial data.
Track and update fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments as required.
Help prepare supporting schedules and documentation for monthly and year-end close.
Assist in audit support and respond to internal or external queries.
Assist with payroll processing
Financial Close Assistance:
Support monthly closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
Help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Work closely with the finance team to maintain internal controls and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in accounts payable and bookkeeping roles.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and AP processes.
Experience with accounting software SAP Business 1 preferred. Very proficient (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Xero).
Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data entry and reconciliation.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting monthly financial close in a corporate environment.
Familiarity with expense management systems and vendor portals.
Knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
