The Operations Manager is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance and service delivery across multiple client sites. This role ensures that operations are running smoothly, staff are well-managed, quality standards are met, and client relationships are maintained with a high level of satisfaction. The Operations Manager will lead a team of site supervisors and frontline employees, focusing on accountability, consistency, and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Janitorial/Maintenance Oversight for Area Managers, Project Managers, and site supervisors
- Work with managers on better strategies to mitigate overtime
- Perform site walks when requested to evaluate new potential jobs and provide recommendations on labor allocation, staffing strategies, and best practices.
- Spearhead startup of new accounts and work in tandem with managers and supervisors to ensure accounts are setup for success at the outset from proper supplies to proper staffing and training of that staffing to guarantee ongoing success
- Serve as primary point of contact when correcting deficiencies and other issues at client sites – Sensitive accounts. Ensure that we are following process for follow-up and resolution on sensitive accounts ensuring all parties are providing the relevant updates in a timely manner and documenting accordingly.
- Communicate directly with customers while onsite to ensure they know we are actively committed to resolving issues
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at weekly department meetings
- Reviewing monthly metrics and data for managers including inspection compliance, vehicle fuel spend, EZPass usage, parking/moving violations, equipment repairs, etc.
- Communicating job expectations on service delivery and execution to the managers and field teams
- Optimize Area Manager performance by ensuring they are meeting their key metrics on a continuing basis:
- Completing the proper cadence on QA Inspections
- Making sure inspections are accurate and transparent and reflect a true evaluation of the space or facility
- Ensure company policies and procedures are being followed including employee handbook, Area Manager Training Manual, and Cleaning training manual
- Review existing accounts and make recommendations to improve performance and efficiency (i.e. - prepare and complete action plans for sensitive accounts)
- Overall quality control – ensure our staff understand what their responsibilities are and how to perform their duties.
- Ensuring our Managers and Supervisors know how to properly train their staff and are providing the necessary support to the field teams.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures (OSHA manual).
- Making sure all bottles/chemicals are properly labeled
- Using wet floors signs and proper placement of such
- Proper usage of steps ladders/ladders
- SDS Sheets and right to know stations are in place
- Using proper PPE when necessary
- Supply closets are need and organized
- Equipment is clean and maintained and properly left for use for the next day or next shift
- Identify areas of weakness or flaws in our current operating procedures and work with senior management to implement changes for improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in multi-site operations, facility management, janitorial, security, hospitality, or education support services.
- Strong leadership and team management experience with the ability to coach and hold staff accountable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Comfortable using technology, including timekeeping systems, inspection apps, and MS Office/Google Workspace.
- Must be flexible with hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is MANADTORY
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as needed.
Physical Demands: Stand, walk, or sit alternately, depending on specific daily demands. Infrequent lifting and/or carrying of bulk supplies weighing up to 25+ pounds (with assistance as necessary). Up to 25% of the time may have to perform the following physical activities: bend/stoop/squat: crawl: climb stairs/ladder: kneel” push or pull: twists torso: reach above shoulder level. Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures. The employee may be subjected to long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
Environmental Conditions: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
Mental Demands: There are several deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress.
