Purchasing Agent / Buyer
Job Description
- Seeking a Purchasing Agent for a manufacturing company specialized in the aerospace industry.
- The ideal candidate has 3+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- You have strong problems solving skills and understand cost.
- You have the ability to deal with change and pressure by shifting priorities, deadlines and goals.
- Responsible for verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders, and verifying receipt of items.
- Negotiate the best supplier terms for pricing and delivery based on customer needs, specific budget, and schedule requirements.
- Prepare written inquiries and obtain written quotes for vendor supplied items and subcontracts.
- Negotiate terms and conditions, and issue purchase order or subcontract with all required documentation.
- Negotiate and issue change orders to purchase orders and subcontracts with all required documentation.
- When required, manage rental equipment, and maintain files to chart delivery, rates, and return.
- Review, coordinate and resolve invoice problems with supplier and A/P.
- Handle return material and ensure project receives proper and timely credit.
Requirements
- Associates required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Industry related experience within an aerospace machining environment a plus.
- Working knowledge of MRP system
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedure
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
