Position Summary: The Jr. Graphic Designer will report to the Director of Media Relations. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented Jr. Graphic Designer that creates visually appealing and engaging designs. The Jr. Graphic Designer will have a strong understanding of design principles, proficiency in graphic design software, and a passion for creating high-quality visual content.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the creation and design of digital and print materials, including but not limited to eblasts, social media graphics, advertisements, brochures, and branding elements.
- Collaborate with the Graphic Designer to help develop creative concepts and visuals.
- Prepare files for printing, ensuring all designs are in the correct formats and specifications.
- Assist in the production of design mockups and prototypes.
- Edit and resize images, videos, and other media as needed.
- Help maintain consistency and branding standards across all design projects.
- Organize and manage design assets, including images, fonts, and templates.
- Assist in the development and execution of social media content and marketing materials.
- Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and technologies to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
- Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the non-profit sector, particularly related to donor engagement and retention.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Strong understanding of design principles (typography, layout, color theory).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A portfolio showcasing previous design work is highly preferred.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with email marketing software (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), video editing and working with a nonprofit organization a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing design trends and project requirements.
