The Dairy Farm Pick-up Driver is CDL A tanker certified. They drive insulated tank trucks to transport bulk milk between farms, dairies, and commercial establishments: Will also need to grade, sample, and measure the milk in farm bulk milk tanks, collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
Duties:
- Observes level gauge of storage tank and computes and records weight of milk in tank.
- Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections, accurately complete and submit driver logs, inspection records and other required documents.
- Enter information clearly and accurately in all software applications.
- Perform quality control process steps ensuring satisfactory and sanitary collection, transportation, and unloading of milk.
- Interact frequently with farmers, plant personnel, supervisor, and others in a professional and positive manner.
- Identify and respond to potential and actual exception conditions, taking action to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Follow and comply with applicable Federal and State regulations, Midland Farms policies and best practices.
- Communicate with supervisor and/or shipping locations as required to identify and respond to transportation and delivery exception conditions
- Connects hose and turns valves to pump milk into truck.
- Perform unloading (intake) function as needed.
- Use recommended tools and chemicals, following sanitation procedures in accordance with quality assurance standard operating procedures washing truck exterior, tank compartment, equipment, and cab.
Requirements:
- Class A CDL: 2 years (Required)
- Tanker (N) Endorsement (Required)
- Farm testing license (must get certified)
- Work with local farmers in a professional manner
- Comfortable working in all types of weather conditions
