About the Role:
Our client, a leading enterprise organization, is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Desktop Support Technician to join their onsite IT Depot team in Rochester. This critical role supports the preparation and deployment of IT hardware—including laptops and desktops—for multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving:
-
Receive incoming IT equipment and verify contents against shipping documentation.

Prepare and package systems for outgoing delivery according to internal standards.

Asset Inventory Management:
-
Track and update inventory of hardware assets using internal asset management tools.
-
Tag and log devices with appropriate asset IDs for traceability.

Device Imaging & Configuration:
-
Execute scripted imaging processes for laptops and desktops.
-
Ensure devices are configured according to company specifications and standards.

Depot & Break/Fix Support:
-
Maintain depot organization and cleanliness.
-
Support hardware diagnostics and minor repairs under supervision.

Ticketing & Documentation:
-
Use ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent) to log, update, and resolve assigned tasks.

Document processes, issues, and equipment status accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
-
1+ years of IT support or warehouse logistics experience in a technical environment.

Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware components.

Familiarity with scripted imaging tools or software deployment processes.

Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA, BMC).

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are a plus.

Prior experience in a depot, staging, or IT logistics setting is a strong advantage.
