The Joanne Forbes Foundation was established to amplify peer voices, champion access, and fund innovative solutions that end isolation and promote belonging.
We are seeking a skilled, passionate Website Manager/Designer to help us tell our stories, connect our communities, and ensure our digital presence reflects the heart of who we are.
Position Summary:
This role is ideal for someone who understands the power of digital storytelling in driving social change. The Website Manager/Designer will support two vital nonprofit websites—Baltic Street Wellness Solutions and the Joanne Forbes Foundation—ensuring both are accessible, visually engaging, up-to-date, and aligned with our missions.
This person will collaborate with peer staff, board members, and leadership teams to ensure timely content updates, creative design solutions, and seamless user experiences. If you’re excited by social impact, digital equity, and uplifting community voices—you’ll thrive here.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain & Enhance Our Websites:
- Ensure both sites are consistently updated with timely, relevant, and person-centered content
- Manage security, functionality, and accessibility across all platforms
- Design and refresh pages, banners, and graphics to align with our changing needs and campaigns
- Collaborate Across Teams:
- Work closely with the executive leadership, the marketing team, and the Joanne Forbes Foundation Board to reflect organizational updates
- Translate complex initiatives into easy-to-navigate digital experiences for diverse users
- Uplift the voices and stories of our staff, peer community, and supporters through thoughtful design and layout
- Support Communication Goals:
- Post community announcements, upcoming events, donation campaigns, press features, job opportunities, and more
- Integrate newsletters, donation tools, and event software into both sites
- Create welcoming and inclusive design experiences for all users, including those with lived experience, disabilities, and language diversity
What You Bring:
- Experience managing nonprofit websites (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS)
- An eye for clean, intuitive, and inclusive design
- Ability to write and present content in clear, compassionate, person-centered ways
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices (WCAG)
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS (more advanced coding is a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for wellness, advocacy, or equity work
- Comfortable working independently while remaining responsive to a collaborative team
Schedule & Flexibility
- 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling
- Occasional evening or weekend updates for time-sensitive announcements
- Room for growth based on agency expansion and foundation campaigns
