HEAD OF TOTAL REWARDS
Based in our NYC Corporate Office (not remote)
Inditex U.S. is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Total Rewards to lead and oversee the Compensation, Payroll and Benefits departments, including the teams responsible for these functions, across the United States and Puerto Rico. This role is responsible for designing and executing competitive, compliant, and employee-focused total rewards strategies that align with our business objectives and company culture. The Director will report to the Head of HR for Inditex U.S. and manage a team supporting the full lifecycle of compensation programs, payroll, benefits administration, vendor relationships, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation
- Lead and manage the Compensation team responsible for U.S. and Puerto Rico programs.
- Design, implement, and manage competitive compensation strategies, including base pay, bonus, and incentive plans.
- Lead the annual compensation planning process (merit, bonus, promotions), partnering with HRBPs and Finance.
- Develop and maintain job architecture, salary structures, and market benchmarking processes.
- Provide strategic compensation guidance to senior leadership for hiring, retention, and organizational changes.
- Ensure internal equity and external competitiveness while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with global compensation leaders to align local programs with Inditex’s global philosophy.
Payroll
- Lead and manage the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. and Puerto Rico employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Oversight of all payroll related tax returns, audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
- Collaborate with HRBP and Finance to ensure payroll data integrity and alignment with compensation and benefits programs.
Benefits
- Lead and manage the Benefits team responsible for U.S. and Puerto Rico programs.
- Oversee all benefits offerings including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness, life insurance, disability, commuter benefits, and voluntary plans.
- Direct the annual open enrollment process and related communications.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Puerto Rico benefit regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA).
- Design and implement employee wellbeing initiatives aligned with company values.
- Analyze plan performance, costs, and utilization to inform strategic improvements.
Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team, including direct leadership of compensation and benefits professionals.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Finance to ensure integration and alignment of total rewards strategy.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness and ROI of compensation and benefits programs.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of HR and senior leaders on total rewards.
- Act as liaison to global Total Rewards team to ensure consistency with corporate policies and international best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in compensation and benefits practices to support employee engagement and retention.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years managing both compensation and benefits teams.
- Experience managing total rewards in a large, multi-site U.S. organization; retail experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and Puerto Rico compensation and benefits regulations.
- Proven success in building and leading Total Rewards functions that support business objectives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with ADP or similar HRIS systems preferred.
- CCP, CEBS, or other relevant certifications a plus.

Annual compensation range: $180,000 - $220,000 + discretionary annual bonus
