Position: Public Relations - Account Manager

Location: New York City, NY

MINIMUM 1-2 YEARS POST COLLEGE PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERIENCE

Reports To: Director of Creative Strategy and President & CEO

We are an international public relations and creative marketing agency that represents talent in fashion, design, film, and art. Headquartered in New York City.

Scope of Position: The Account Manager is responsible for partnering with clients to strategically advance their public relations image and exposure. Collaborates with and jointly oversees the work of the PR Coordinator as it pertains to PR activities. Works in a collaborative, productive and timely manner with all colleagues to further company goals.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Serve as lead for multiple assigned accounts.

  • Build and manage relationships with clients to further their strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with Director of Creative Strategy on ideation of client strategy.

  • Prepare and present client strategy.

  • Secure feature stories for clients in the press.

  • Collaborate with the team on managing client events.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with editors, writers, and other key industry professionals.

Secondary Job Duties:

  • Ensure the securing of product placements by Coordinators.

  • Oversee and send bi-monthly client reports.

  • Oversee and send bi-monthly all agendas.

  • Lead bi-monthy client calls.

  • Liaise with the team to keep up to date on all client activities.

  • Administrative duties related to working in a collegial small office (ex. Answering phones, shipping orders.)

Key skills:

  • Ability to successfully source appropriate social media influencers, celebrities and VIP profiles in relation to client products.

  • Ability to successfully fulfill agreed client product placements goals including securing of feature stories and other placement goals

  • Ability to position oneself as a trusted resource for clients.

  • Excellent communication skills: presentation, verbal and written.

  • Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, vendors, clients and other professional contacts.

  • Knowledge and passion for the media, including social media.

  • Flair for creativity, strategic thinking and innovation.

  • Customer service focused.

  • Ability to take and follow direction from supervisors.

  • Ability to work efficiently in high-volume, deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to take initiatives and work independently when required.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects or portfolios and manage a project through to completion.

  • Solid knowledge of common computer applications including Google Workspace.

  • Ability to do deep-dive internet research.
