About the Opportunity

Museum and Institutional Partnerships Intern

David Zwirner seeks a highly motivated Museum and Institutional Partnerships Intern at its New York gallery. This role will support the M&IP team by assisting with research, information capture and data entry, and ad hoc projects as they arise. This role involves significant exposure to proprietary client information, therefore discretion is essential.

Qualified candidates should be highly personable, organized, motivated, and responsible, with an interest in gaining experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct research through print and digital publications.
  • Enter large amounts of highly detailed information into the database.
  • Review and maintain relevancy of information in the database.
  • Gather information on third party exhibitions relating to the gallery's program.
  • Update reference documents with accurate up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate with other DZG departments — including marketing, research, and artist management teams — as needed to accomplish the above.

What we would like you to have:

  • Ability to exercise diligence, be extremely organized, and possess a strong sense of time management.
  • Previous experience with data entry and research is strongly preferred, as is solid knowledge of contemporary art and the domestic institutional landscape.
  • An acute attention to detail.

Please submit a resume and cover letter.

The Winter/Spring internship runs from January through April. Hours are 10AM – 6PM. The schedule is flexible, 3-4 days a week. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of 3 months. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.

David Zwirner is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Gallery is firmly committed to equal employment opportunities in all facets of its operations. The Gallery makes decisions concerning hiring and terms and conditions of employment without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
