Hours Per Week: 35
FLSA Status: Full Time, Non Exempt
Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000

Summary Description: The EHR Finance Analyst will have a strong background in healthcare billing, optimizing revenue cycles, familiar with OMH regulations, and the ability to drive process improvements. Is responsible for the building, maintaining, and optimization of the organization's billing structure in the electronic health record systems. This role involves overseeing the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the EHR finance system to ensure seamless revenue cycle management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the organization's electronic health record system billing structure, ensuring billing data accuracy and system reliability. 
  • Configure and customize the EHR system to meet the specific needs and workflows of different behavioral health billing. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, billing guidelines, and payer requirements to minimize compliance risks. 
  • Conduct regular audits of the EHR system to ensure compliance with OMH and HIPAA regulations. 
  • Collaborate with IT and Data departments to implement and maintain robust financial reporting.
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in EHR technology, and regulatory changes to recommend system improvements. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and IT, to streamline processes and resolve billing-related issues. 
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, implement best practices, and lead initiatives to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Generate and analyze reports from the EHR system to support decision-making and compliance. 
  • Any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Efficient generation and analysis of reports to support decision-making. 
  • Ensure adherence to billing regulations and guidelines, minimizing compliance risks and penalties. 
  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports related to billing activities. 
  • Successfully implement the billing structure of new programs and changes to existing programs in the EHR. 
  • Timely resolution of EHR system-related issues and support requests. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in the health and social services sector may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.   
  • Experience with Netstmart myEvolve is a plus. 
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing processes, regulations, and reimbursement methodologies. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.  Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and system reliability. 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving EHR technologies and industry best practices. 
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development. 
  • Strong computer knowledge: typing, communication tools, scheduling tools and web browsers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management systems. 
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).
  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required.   
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

Special Considerations:

  • Employee may be sitting, performing computer work for extended periods of time. 
  • 35hrs per week
  • Remote work capability required with the possibility of on-site work in Westchester and/or Rockland County locations in the future. 

Mandated Reporter:

This is a Mandated Reporter position. The NYS Justice Center legislation defines anyone who has regular and substantial contact with any person with special needs as a “custodian” under the law and, therefore, a mandated reporter. You can be held liable by both the civil and criminal legal systems for intentionally failing to make a report.
