Role Overview: We are seeking a self-starter, and organized associate to join our growing operations team. This role offers unique exposure to the venture capital ecosystem. Serving as a key pillar of our team, you'll enhance our operational efficiency, maintain a well-organized investment portfolio, communicate with industry leaders and limited partners, assist with FP&A, and contribute to our mission of supporting and empowering visionary entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing and implementing internal processes and best practices that continuously improve our fund administration and investor experience.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met promptly and precisely.
- Support accounting and tax teams to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage day-to-day LP communications, including facilitating investor due diligence questions, managing access to our investor portal, and supporting subscription document completion.
- Maintain database of LP data and proactively coordinate communications during live deal processes.
- Collaborate with our copywriter to prepare regular reports and portfolio company updates on investment performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another related analytical degree.
- 4-6 years of experience in a Business Operations or Fund Operations role, preferably with some knowledge and experience in venture capital. Small team or start-up experience is a preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with prior exposure to financial accounting through coursework or industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Conviction and confidence to execute tasks while navigating ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency and comfort with using and exploring digital tools (eg. HubSpot, Gusto, Monday.com, Slack, Zapier) – we are always looking for ways to leverage technology to streamline operations. Someone interested in experimenting and implementing technology is preferred.
- Process or system-building experience is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and quickly re-prioritize.
- High responsiveness: you are obsessed with getting to inbox 0, available on short notice, and can gracefully distribute critical information to various stakeholders.
