Summary: Responsible for the primary support of the doctors and patients. The veterinary technician must be able to pay attention to detail, respond quickly and calmly to crises, and maintain a very high standard of patient care. In addition, the veterinary technician must be able to communicate well with clients, demonstrating care and concern for their pets at all times by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs physical exams..*

2. Performs catheterizations.*

3. Provides physical therapy and/or laser therapy.*

4. Gives injections in accordance with government regulations and doctor’s orders.*

5. Performs routine laboratory analyses including hematology, serology, cytology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, fecals, and skin scrapings.*

6. Administers and monitors anesthesia in accordance with state regulations.*

7. Performs routine dental cleanings in accordance with state regulations.*
