We are currently looking for a detail oriented professional as a Tax Supervisor for our growing Emerging Business/Tax department servicing our clients located predominantly in Long Island.
Position Summary
The Tax Supervisor can expect to participate in the preparation of complex corporate, partnership, trust, estate, non-profit and personal tax returns, tax research and compliance, assist with tax planning/projections and tax projects and assist with the training of and review work of staff accountants. The candidate should have an understanding of financial/accounting principles and tax compliance, be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking, can work autonomously and likes to be challenged.
Responsibilities
- Review of work product prepared by other members of the team.
- Preparation of corporate, partnership, trust, estate, non-profit and individual tax returns.
- Tax research for technical tax related matters.
- Consult with clients and be a point of contact for clients
- Assist with preparation and quarterly and annual tax projections for business owners.
- Participate in tax projects.
- Review and adjustment of client’s books and records.
- Bookkeeping for complex clients using QuickBooks online.
Experience
- 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting
- 1+ year of experience as a tax supervisor
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. Accounting, Finance, Business, Math, etc.)
Other Qualifications
- Can effectively communicate with clients
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Experience with Lacerte preferred
- Significant experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online preferred
